Mission Zero

Dobeles dzirnavnieks AS has become a member of the Mission Zero initiative. At the welcoming ceremony on 20 October 2023, a charter was signed, which confirms our aim to make the health and safety of employees as the company’s core values in all company processes. This charter represents our voluntary commitment to further improve safety within the company by promoting the wellbeing and health of our employees.

To achieve our Mission Zero goals, we commit to:

  • Publicly establish zero accidents as an annual company goal for occupational safety.
  • Create and maintain a safe and healthy work environment in compliance with laws and regulations, and to strive for higher standards.
  • Educate and involve all employees in creating a safe working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with and regularly monitor employment, and occupational health, and safety legislation, keeping employees updated regularly.
  • establish a dialogue and collaboration with employees, suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders to collectively achieve high safety standards through good practices.
  • develop continuous improvement in health and safety practices and processes.
  • to not cover up and investigate all accidents or near-misses with the aim of improving the working environment and preventing accidents from happening again.
  • Implement and maintain a practical risk reporting system within the company.
  • Implement Mission Zero awareness campaigns and activities.
  • Speak openly with other charter signatories about the current situation, challenges, and safety achievements, while maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Organise and participate in experience exchange visits.
  • Participate in the development of Mission Zero content, and regularly participate in activities.
  • Implement Mission Zero commitments in good faith; offer support and encouragement to other companies and employees who want to improve their health and safety standards.
  • Prevent, through our actions, activities that are contrary to the objectives of Mission Zero.
  • Inform employees, and business partners about joining the Mission Zero initiative and its activities.

We want to encourage other companies to consider their options to improve their working environment and protect their employees.
